A Florida native, John Bryan graduated from Presbyterian College, Clinton, South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. After graduation John worked as Assistant Branch Manager of Atlanta’s Barnett Bank and then as Loan Officer at a C&S Bank in Atlanta. Returning to Clearwater in 1989, John began his accounting and tax career by working with his father, the late William E. Bryan, in his firm. In 1992, John purchased his father’s business and established Bryan Financial Services where he holds the life, health and disability insurance license as well as the Series 7 and 66 securities licenses.
John is the Clearwater, Florida Chapter Director for Avantax Investment ServicesSM that helps investors obtain the comprehensive financial advice they seek from trusted financial and tax professionals.
Since 1997 he has been an Enrolled Agent, a federally authorized tax practitioner empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Enrolled agent status is the IRS’s highest credential award and is recognized in all 50 states. John has served as President of the Suncoast Chapter of Enrolled Agents’ and as its Public Awareness Chairman.
Away from the office, John’s hobbies include physically exercising, enjoying college sports and enthusiastically engaging in outdoor cooking—with heavy emphasis on smoking and grilling.
For 26 years John has been married to his wife Amy. Together they have three sons, all of whom attained the Boy Scouts of America rank of Eagle Scout—an honor their father earned in 1978.
